This is our livelihood; our careers depend on our expertise gained as we train and prepare for the day we serve others.  Currently we are hiring a SENIOR ARBORIST TECHNICIAN - GROUP LEADER and a TREE CLIMBING - GROUNDS TECHNICIAN.

Job Overview:

Position 1:  SENIOR ARBORIST TECHNICIAN - GROUP LEADER

  •  Responsible for the daily leadership of arborist staff, and ensuring customer satisfaction in a setting of premier lakefronts and mature forests;
  • Promotion and implementation of Pavey Tree, it's mission, goals and objectives.
Qualifications:

Duties and Responsibilities:
Position 1
:  SENIOR ARBORIST TECHNICIAN - GROUP LEADER

  • Working knowledge of the Occupational Health & Safety Act, WSIB, Arborists Safe Work Practices and other related Acts, Rules and Regulations;
  • Deliver crew safety, efficiency, and production to clientele;
  • Create in-house safe work practices, training, and responsibility for inventory, equipment and staffing.

Postition 2:  TREE CLIMBING - GROUNDS TECHNICIAN

  • Gaining confidence and experience in climbing a tree using accepted safe work practices;
  • Willingness to qualify and obtain ISA Certification;
  • Competence in the safe maintenance and operation of tree care/removal equipment;
  • MTO Drivers Licence and Clean Driver’s Abstract;
  • Current First Aid and CPR;
  • Enthusiastic, energetic, and capable of executing the highest standards of safety, quality in pruning, removals, and preventative tree care;
  • Demonstrate safe working environments for yourself and your co-workers.

Skills and Abilities:
Position 1:  SENIOR ARBORIST TECHNICIAN - GROUP LEADER

  • Progressive and Proven leadership/communication skills in a team environment, capable of leading in the highest standards of safety, quality in pruning, removals and preventative care;
  • Ability to convey ideas clearly and concisely.  You are a progressive thinker, and based on your experience, you act intuitively, show initiative and determination;
  • Pleasant and courteous demeanour, with a positive attitude;
  • Progressive and continued Advanced climbing and rigging skills, competent with crane assisted tree removals, competent operation of chainsaws, chippers, stumpers, trailers, boats and other related heavy machinery;
  • Enjoy working in remote locations and adverse conditions.

Postition 2:  TREE CLIMBING - GROUNDS TECHNICIAN

  • Prior to acceptance, your tree climbing skills, equipment knowledge and safety will be determined.
Education/Assets/Other:

Position 1:  SENIOR ARBORIST TECHNICIAN - GROUP LEADER

  • Graduate from a Forestry/Arboriculture program with at least 3+ years of progressive experience;
  • Current I.S.A. Certification and desire for progressive learning;
  • A clean Driver's Abstract - MTO "D" licence preferred;
  • Current First Aid and C.P.R.;
  • Current WAH (Working At Heights Certification).

Postition 2:  TREE CLIMBING - GROUNDS TECHNICIAN

  • Successful completion or continuing education in Forestry/Arboriculture;
  • Working knowledge of the Occupational Health & Safety Act, and other related Acts, Rules and Regulations.
Pay/Benefits:
  • All salaries and benefits will be directly related to level of skill and ability.
