We are currently looking to hire motivated and skilled individuals for several key positions:
1)    Groundsman;
2)    Climbing Arborist & Crew Leader;
3)    Consulting Arborist & Estimator.

Qualifications:

1)  Groundsmen: In order to perform this key support role, groundsmen typically have the following qualifications, knowledge and abilities:

  • Driver’s licence with clean abstract (‘DZ’ licence preferred);
  • 1 year of previous experience in the tree care industry;
  • Ability to operate a chainsaw safely and perform basic maintenance;
  • Ability to operate a chipper safely and troubleshoot common problems on site;
  • Basic knowledge of knots and rigging procedures ;
  • Stump grinder / mini-loader / bobcat operating experience an asset;
  • Exterminator Licence with Landscape module considered an asset.

2) Climbing Arborist & Crew Leader: In order to perform this key leadership and service role, climbing arborists & crew leaders typically have the following qualifications, knowledge and abilities: 

  • Driver’s licence with clean abstract (‘DZ’ licence preferred);
  • 3 years minimum professional tree climbing experience with previous college training based on Arborist Safe Work Practices;
  • Proficient and safety-conscious approach to performing pruning and tree removals, especially near homes, over roofs, and in locations with some risk of property damage and where advanced rigging techniques are required;
  • Reliable team player with the ability to efficiently plan a job, lead a crew and provide basic mentorship for crew members in support roles;
  • Electrical Safety Awareness training and 0-8 ton Crane Operator’s Licence preferred.

3)  Consulting Arborist & Estimator: In order to perform this key estimating, consulting and crew management role, consulting arborists and estimators typically have the following qualifications, knowledge and abilities:

  • ‘G’ licence with clean abstract;
  • Minimum 5 years of tree care experience with the ability to estimate, organize and provide high-level customer care for a variety of tree services ranging from pruning, removals, plant health care treatments, soil remediation, planting, etc.;
  • ISA Certified Arborist or industry equivalent with formal arboriculture/forestry training;
  • Landscape Exterminator Licence, Tree Risk Assessment Qualification preferred;
  • Familiarity with relevant GTA tree protection bylaws;
  • Experience preparing general / construction arborist reports an asset. 
Education/Assets/Other:

All of the following certifications, licences and qualifications may not be applicable to each job posting and in some cases, are preferred assets only:

  • Driver license: ‘G’ / ‘DZ’ with clean abstract;
  • ISA Certified Arborist or industry equivalent, Tree Risk Assessment Qualification;
  • Book 7 Traffic Control training;
  • First Aid and CPR certified;
  • Working at Heights training;
  • Chainsaw and chipper certification;
  • 0-8 ton mobile crane operator’s licence;
  • Electrical safety and awareness training.
Pay/Benefits:

Pay:  $15 - $30/hour
