Ontario’s new Occupational Health & Safety Awareness & Training Regulation

On July 1st, in just over two weeks, Ontario’s Occupational Health and Safety Awareness and Training Regulation (O.Reg. 297/13) comes into effect.

There are a number of options available to make it easier for you, as a business owner, to comply and ensure that your workers and supervisors have received appropriate training.

The Ministry is offering employer guidance tools to help you assess your current program gap; create or modify a template for record keeping; and determine worker/supervisor knowledge levels about the Occupational Health & Safety Act.  There is also a downloadable poster for all workplaces.  Free, quick and easy-to-operate,  e-learning modules are also available.  Click here for a general training overview.

For employers who wish to benefit from a more intensively trained workforce that is committed to success, there are private companies that offer training services that can be found on the internet by searching "health & safety training [City]".

Our mission is to enhance and promote the care and benefit of trees for present and future generations in Ontario through education, research and awareness.
