Triage for trees with at-risk crown structure

The Richmond Hill Operations Centre

8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Ice-storm damage combined with the affects of the current EAB epidemic can be expected to have a devastating long-lasting impact to our urban forest canopy.   Given this bleak picture, it is our job as professional arborists to give preference to risk management tree care practices that will conserve large shade trees for the benefits they provide to the urban forest canopy, for as long as they can safely be managed to do that.

Keynote lecturer Ian Bruce will discuss the effects of the storm damage as well as some traditional and more advanced pruning techniques to use as a tool to try to restore some of the damages, as they relate to the species we work with in Ontario.
