Now that the busy season is winding down, it is time for all OCAA members to turn their attention to the growth and expansion of their companies. OCAA seminars guide attendees to success by providing practical information that can be used by companies on a daily basis. The upcoming sessions will provide members with a very cost effective way to implement mandatory safety training, enhance tree worker skills and become more effective managers. OCAA arborist training sessions provide CEUs for certified arborists and tree workers. These seminars are by advanced registration only, and may sell out. Register early to avoid disappointment.

Safety in Roadside Operations
Get your staff updated on all aspects of Safety in Roadside Operations within the province of Ontario. Representatives from the Transportation Health and Safety Association, The Farm Safety Association and The Ministry of Transportation will guide you through proper traffic control precautions, circle check inspections, and ministry of transportation legislation. This hands on full day seminar will be held indoors utilizing tree service related equipment such as aerial lift trucks, chippers, stump grinders, etc. in real life scenarios to better prepare your staff for what they face every day.

First Aid / CPR / WHIMIS
The Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) regulates workplace safety education in Ontario and has set laws regarding first aid. Standard First Aid / CPR is required for companies with more than 5 employees. Emergency First Aid / CPR is required for companies with 1-5 employees. April 4 will include all Emergency First Aid/ CPR requirements and WHIMIS. April 4 & 5 will include all Standard First Aid / CPR requirements and WHIMIS.

Plant Health Care
This is an interactive session with presentations from industry suppliers on new products and treatments. Diagnosis and treatment options will be discussed for a broad spectrum of tree health issues from roots to shoots. An overview of Pesticide By-Laws will be included. .
