Join Ironwood Arboriculture & Kyle McLoughlin for this one day workshop on Saturday May 9, in St. George ON.
Air excavation is an ideal way to maximize tree life and learn what is happening below ground. Roots are the part of the puzzle most arborists trip over when dealing with plant health care and longevity. This workshop is meant to hone those skills by reviewing the operation of air excavation equipment, how it can be applied to tree health, and what fungi to expect and beware of when undertaking this kind of work.
Main areas of workshop focus:
● Air Compressor Safety – What to order and what to plan for?
● Root Structure – What are the major root types? And how long do taproots live for?
● Root Pruning – How much to take and leave? And what are the limits to root diameter?
● The Fungi that interact with roots? – Do Mycorhizzae and Decay appear in the same places? And What about other root fungi or non-fungi?
● 7 Practical applications for air excavation – From tree protection, to infrastructure protection and plant health care.
