Field Entomology for Arborists: Unleash the Bug Expert Within!
Join us for this immersive, hands-on experiential two-day-field workshop in a natural setting rich in biodiversity. Filled with interactive activities to sharpen your scouting and identification skills for insects commonly found around trees and shrubs In the southern Ontario landscape. Motivated by their contagious passion for learning, Dave Cheung, Marvin Gunderman and Jen Llewellyn will lead the workshop in an inspiring, engaging, team building style filled with group learning and FUN. QUBS is a beautiful spot for a retreat where you can canoe, swim, hike, and hang out with fellow arborists! ISA CEUs are available for attending! Location: Queens University Biology Station: 280 Queen's University Road, Elgin, Ontario K0G 1E0. (Note QUBS is under construction this year – although this shouldn't disturb the evening/night activities, there may be some disruption during business hours)
Schedule:

  • Tues July 22: arrive late afternoon (by 5:00PM) – Dinner will be provided. Activities will run approx. 6:00PM-10:30PM.
  • Wed July 23: 8:00AM – 10:30PM. Breakfast, lunch and dinner (as well as snacks) will be provided.
  • Thurs July 24: 8:00AM – 6:00 PM. Breakfast lunch and dinner (as well as snacks) will be provided.

Cancellation deadline: July 8, 2025. No refunds will be issued after the cancellation deadline.
