The International Society of Arboriculture Ontario Chapter (ISA Ontario) is a not-for-profit, membership-based organization with over 1100 members. It is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors, supported by a small staff complement and several volunteer committees.

About the Role:
ISA Ontario is seeking a dynamic and organized individual who can work independently to support the day-to-day operations of ISA Ontario.
The Digital Support & Communications Assistant provides entry-level support for the organization’s digital systems and communications activities. This role is primarily responsible for data entry and maintenance, ensuring accuracy and consistency across databases, while also assisting with social media content and email communications. This position is ideal for a student or recent graduate seeking hands-on experience in digital administration and communications within a professional, member-based organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Data Management & Digital Support (Primary Focus – 70%)
- Enter, update, and maintain member and stakeholder data in internal databases/AMS systems
- Perform regular data checks to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency
- Assist with data cleanup, list management, and basic reporting
- Support the organization and maintenance of digital records and file systems
- Prepare and segment contact lists for email communications and events
Communications Support (Secondary Focus – ~30%)
- Assist in drafting, formatting, and scheduling email communications
- Support the creation and scheduling of social media content
- Help maintain a content calendar aligned with organizational activities and events
- Monitor basic engagement metrics and support simple reporting
- Ensure consistency in messaging, tone, and branding
- Promote ISAO membership and ISA credentials.
- Assist with the promotion of ISA Ontario membership and ISA certification programs.
- Perform other administrative duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Experience
Required
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Strong organizational skills with a high level of attention to detail.
- Comfortable working in a hybrid environment, including occasional travel to Milton and event sites.
- Valid G-class driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle.
- Proven ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
- Must be enrolled in a post-Secondary Program in a job-related program.
Complimentary Skills
- Experience in a non-profit or membership-based organization.
- Experience working with AMS or CRM systems and digital communication platforms (e.g., Mailchimp, Constant Contact).
- Content creation
- Familiarity with ISA certification and/or the arboriculture industry.
- Experience coordinating events and supporting volunteer committees.
Work Hours
- Standard: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM. (Some Flexibility)
- Occasional evening/weekend availability required for events or meetings
- ISAO supports a flexible work schedule based on project timelines & event needs.
