Role Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Climbing Arborist to join our crew. The ideal candidate will have at least three years of professional experience performing climbing-based tree pruning, removals, and rigging in residential, commercial, or municipal settings. You’ll uphold high safety and service standards.

Key Responsibilities:

– Safely climb trees using ropes, harnesses, and appropriate climbing systems (e.g. SRT/DRT), plus knowledge of knot-tying and rigging techniques.

-Prune, trim, and remove trees and branches using chainsaws, hand tools, and rigging devices.

-Execute rigging to lower branches/sections without damaging surrounding structures. Evaluate hazards and site conditions pre-job.

-Maintain and inspect climbing gear, saws, chippers, ladders, and safety equipment.

-Occasionally operate aerial lifts or chipper trucks and participate in ground crew cleanup.

-Where relevant, supervise or mentor less experienced climbers and crew members.

Qualifications & Requirements:

-Minimum of 3 years of verified climbing experience in professional arboriculture/climbing roles.

-Proficient in climbing knot and rigging systems, and comfortable using SRT/DRT or similar rope techniques.

-Valid driver’s license with clean abstract; ability to operate company vehicles such as chipper trucks or aerial lifts preferred.

-ISA certification (e.g. Certified Arborist, Tree Climber) or provincial qualification is preferred.

Work Details:

-35–50 hours per week, depending on seasonal workload.

-Work takes place throughout the City of Toronto, servicing both residential and commercial properties.

-This is a 100% outdoor role performed in varying weather conditions.
