Arborist Assistant

As a full time Arborist Assistant you will be working to support many company operations, most importantly in site set-up and assisting the arborists with all the daily tasks. You will play a prominent role in the safe operation of work for our crews and clients or members of the public. The role of Arborist Assistant offers newcomers insight into the industry and the services provided by Palmer Tree Care, as well as opportunities for career advancement and training.

Responsibilities: 

•  provide groundwork support for trimming operations
•  assist Crew leader in job site setup, debris removal, cleanup, and equipment maintenance
• operate chainsaw and chipper to process materials
• adhere to all industry safety policies and procedures
• assist with rigging materials out of the tree

Qualifications:

• valid provincial driver’s license (DZ license considered an asset)
•  chainsaw experience considered an asset
•  interest in working towards becoming a certified arborist
•  previous experience considered an asset
• ability to work safely as part of a team and willingness to learn and progress
• other qualifications an asset – rigging, GIS, bucket operation, landscape maintenance, air brake endorsement
